Friday, November 6, PM. Monday, November 9, AM. Hello, The I folder should only contain installation files, so I don't think you need to modify the registry. How do I find out what my server and share are? I changed them both at the same time so you may get by just changing one of them. I reformatted my drive after a system crash and reinstalled windows and all software.

But there is not I in the C root. It happens at different times while running different programs. How do I replace my as yet unknown corrupt system files using the disk I have and scannow?

Is there another option short of the dreaded reinstall? What do you want Windows to do? What can I do? I have a somewhat related problem. Since then, all my USB devices have been acting erratically. My guess: some files were corrupted in the crash. I upgraded to SP2 over the web.

I have no CD rom to give it. So apparently there are some files that need to be fixed or replaced. But I have no way to do this. I need to run sfc on a second hard drive installed in my system. The dribe is labeled f:. Is it possible to run sfc on the F drive? Ads are also not printed. What is being done wrong? Kind regards, Jon.

I followed the link you provided all the way to Setup, there is no Source Path. What do I do now? How can I recover Regedit if it was omitted from Windows Installer?

I really need this one Thanks. Hi Leo I followed the instructions above as my SR has simply dissappeared! I have tried everything here and nothing seem to work because I am still prompted to insert the CD even after rebooting and double checking my entries in registry questions does it matter if there is 2 partitions on my drive and is there a log file anywhere where I can see the progress to see if it is directed at the right spot in the sequence thanks.

Any ideas please? Followers 0. Recommended Posts. Posted September 10, But i can't select the installation folder, i get this message: Does i have a strange Server ?

Why can you not restore from a known good backup? You are absolutely allowed to have and use it forever. But they are not just providing a download service of it forever, that's totally different.

The product is WAY past the stated end of life when it was purchased. This isn't a surprise or anything. Whoever deployed that nearly a decade and a half ago knew that they would not be able to continue to download it today and knew that they had to keep copies of it safe and secure to keep using it.

I understand your frustration, but the tone here is a bit over the top. Microsoft has done nothing wrong and insulting them for providing it when they had no requirement to do so for many years and not long, long past when they had warned that they would not do so anymore is not okay.

There is no one to blame for it not being kept at your site except for your firm. I doubt you were involved, this is an ancient problem. But don't take it out on an innocent vendor, be made at the IT people before you and the managers who decided to not update, not follow industry and vendor guidance, not properly support the ecosystem that they chose to run and then not bother to store their backups properly given their other decisions.
