I asked JC for refund, and they said refused. So it appears we're headed to small claims court. A Consumer Affairs attorney had this to say to another customer with the same problem: "Depending on the state, if you purchased the piece of furniture in a brand new condition, you may have a cause of action under the applicable code section of your state for breach of express contract and breach of contract as a new item may carry an assumed fitness for a particular purpose.

They came in to put and install the furniture. I recommended a couple people to go in there. Then had to have it rebuilt in my living room. I was that excited to entertain in my new living room. My couch is now peeling like a orange I have purchased furniture from Jennifer Convertibles for years and was always very satisfied, but this really is a purchase nightmare.
How can a couch die before the warranty ends. I'm so disappointed, hurt, and broke And it's only 3 years old. We sincerely apologize about your experience with your furniture.
We appreciate your feedback and would like to make things right. We bought a sofa previously from Jennifer Convertibles and we chose to go back to them because of the price.
The sales representative was really good at the place we went to and our experience with them has been fine. I asked the delivery team for help to bring out the old sofa, which they didn't want to, but they did their job in bringing the sofa in and that's all that's required of them.
So, they were fine. I purchased a sleep sofa from the Jennifer Convertibles store because of their reliability. Their rep was very helpful. I told her the color I was interested in and she showed me. We walked around the store, I made my selection and left.
I also had my item delivered and the delivery was great. I have never written a bad review before, but you know what? The customers deserve to know what to expect! Ok here is my nightmare story and biggest disappointment ever: I have ordered a sofa bed from Jennifer Furniture. We negotiated the date of arrival and I had to take a day off at work, as they were not able to specify the exact or near hour - just told me between 10am and 3pm. So I waited And they brought a wrong one.
I was really pissed as I needed it - I awaited guests for couple of nights and had no place to put them. So I had to pay a hotel for them! You would think they will apologize and be very sorry You think wrong - no in Jennifer.
Such a rude attitude and impolite behaviour, I was really amazed! We take these matters very serious. We had a good experience at the store of Jennifer Convertibles. The sales guy was very nice, knew how to explain all about what we want to know, and answered all the questions for us. That's the most important thing. We bought a couch and just had it for a few weeks, but it's comfortable and looks like durable.
So far, no complaints. We were looking for furniture so we had gone to several places, and then we went to Jennifer Convertibles. We were greeted promptly and as soon as we walked in, we saw what we wanted. They asked us if we want it financed, but we paid cash for it. They then gave us the information about the paperwork that we needed if we wanted an extended warranty, but they didn't say that they were going to follow up.
We would be getting other documents in the mail regarding our extended warranty but haven't received that yet. We were in the store for 15 minutes, and our experience was really good. The delivery process was great. They came in, set up everything and took the cartons out in the back. I'm very satisfied, and I would recommend them.
I've had friends purchase from Jennifer Convertibles before, so I bought an affordable couch from them during the Labor Day sale, and it is comfortable.
We had a pleasant experience with a friendly sales representative at the store. And when we were torn between the two couches, he was able to explain that one wouldn't have fit because of the size of our apartment, which was correct because we went back and measured. The delivery team was great as well. They arrived at 8, which was within the window we were provided. They called to say that they were approaching the apartment, and worked nicely and fast. Everything went smoothly and I really didn't have problems with them.
